Storming the Bastille

On July 14, 1789, the French citizen stormed the Bastille, a fortress and prison in Paris, France. The Bastille represented the power of the monarchy, so storming the Bastille and taking over it was a big boost to their group ego and morale. The storming of the Bastille was the start of the French Revolution, which in turn led to the birth of the French Republic.

And so, the celebration of Bastille Day is marked by a wonderful parade along the Champs-Elysees. Now, of course, Paris, as it is, is already a sight to note what with all the tourist spots there, but Paris is made even more alluring with the celebration of Bastille Day.

The night before the parade, the road is already bristling with men and women bursting with pride and anticipation. There will be food and drink, wine and brie, usually. Over all, the night will be festive and very colorful.

The parade will start at the Arc de Triomphe, so a lot of citizen will try to get a close to it as possible. French luminaries and extra guests will be there to discover the forces as they parade past. The president of the republic will be there. The parade will also be consisted of delegates from separate nations as France invites other forces personnel from its allies to march along the French flag. The parade will be colorful and will showcase the majesty and discipline of the separate forces representative of the invited countries. It will also be a joyous occasion as the crowd will be more than willing to add to the gaiety of the event.
